Many trash cans have been filled with the stalks that have been cut off. As a result just a few of the late blooming iris remain blooming in the garden. It will not be long before the garden is closed to visitors. Even with all the rain we experienced the iris blossoms have been spectacular. It has been a great season!
Many of the early blooming iris are done blooming so I am cutting off the old stalks. This serves as two purposes, one it keeps seed pods from forming plus it beautifies the garden. Many iris continue to bloom so come on out to see these late blooming iris, this will extent your blooming iris season.
This photo was taken this morning of the iris garden. What a beauty! We are open daily from 9:00-6:00 as well as Memorial Day, stop on by.
It took some time but finally I believe the iris are in full bloom and what a beautiful site it is.
Now is a great time to view the iris garden. Approximately 3/4 of the garden is in bloom creating a beautiful site.
During blooming season we are open 7 days a week from 9:00am to 6:00pm. Stop by to see their beauty for yourself.
Sunday Sunshine is a beautiful bright yellow color and Pinkness has a tendency to re-bloom, which is pretty cool.
We have approximately 50 iris blooming with many more about to open. Stop on by to see these beautiful iris in bloom.
Blatant has produced a few stalks and soon the flowers will be appearing. I believe this iris has always bloomed first, early blooming I would say.
The iris plants are looking healthy and are awaiting warm weather to enhance their growth. Although there are no signs of stalks it will not be long before they appear.
